Just a reminder that you have less than one month to file your business entity’s Beneficial Ownership (BOI) report. The deadline to file is January 1, 2025. You can prepare and submit this report yourself at https://boiefiling.fincen.gov/. The form is relatively short and simple, and most owners can complete on their own.
You will need to file this report for each of your entities that are currently registered with the Secretary of State. A person who willfully violates the BOI reporting requirements may also be subject to criminal penalties of up to two years imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000. Potential violations include willfully failing to file a BOI report, willfully filing false beneficial ownership information, or willfully failing to correct or update previously reported BOI.
